Don’t panic it’s nothing medical! The English Department and I merely wish to offer you the chance to come in and talk with your child’s English teacher and me to find out a little bit about what is on offer during the course of this first year in this subject.
We will explore the course modules and the Independent Learning that you can expect your child to receive. We will show you how your child will be assessed and how you can keep tabs on this process. We’ll also look at ‘Target Levels’ which indicate where your child should be by the end of Key Stage 3 and eventually what they should achieve in their GCSEs in the far distant future.
The intention is not to talk you to death, rather to let you know our respective roles in the education of your child. We hope to spend no more than thirty minutes talking and the rest of the time we will endeavour to field any questions you may have. The session is intended to be 45 minutes to an hour long.
The Clinic will be held in Pascal 1 on Wednesday 24th October starting at 6pm. Please feel free to bring your child with you if you so wish but the session will be aimed at you. If you would like to attend, please complete the form below by Monday 22nd October so we have an indication of numbers.
