Catering at Perins School is provided by specialist school caterers, Innovate. Innovate won a new contract with Perins from September 2014 having tendered for the business against 6 other companies, offering by far the most impressive range of services.
Innovate prides itself on providing high quality food, value for money and variety with an emphasis on healthy eating. It guarantees that 95% of all the ingredients used are fresh and all meals are prepared on the premises that day. Fresh bread will be baked daily and menus are priced to ensure a healthy meal can be enjoyed for just £2.00 per day.
An intrinsic part of the Innovate contract is a student/parent internet portal that includes recipes, nutritional information, discount vouchers, promotions and competitions. Students will be invited to leave their feedback on the service and get involved in shaping the lunch and break-time facilities at Perins.
Cashless Catering System
Students do not use cash in the Perins canteen. Payment is made in advance, into the student’s account via our online payment system. To buy items in the canteen, the student simply places their finger on the scanner and the system uses a finger pattern recognition method to identify the student. It displays the student’s name and their account balance, deducts for the items they are buying and then shows them their new balance. How to pay money into a student’s account.
Payment is preferable through the online payment system, however if you would like to pay by cheque please make it payable to ‘Innovate Services Limited’.
We strongly encourage any families who are entitled to Free School Meals to register. All students’ accounts at Perins appear exactly the same and there is nothing to show that they are getting a free school meal. Students entitled to a free meal have their balance updated every day with the amount allocated for a free school meal. This money can only be used at lunch and any under-spend or missed meals cannot be carried forward to the next day. Parents can also add extra money to their balance if they wish, in exactly the same ways as other, to buy items at break time or extra items at lunch time.
