Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

Duke of Edinburgh's Award LogoPerins School provides the base for an active Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) centre. This is an ‘open’ centre for young people, aged 14 to 24 years, in the local area – regardless of whether or not they attend Perins School.
DofE is a leading youth charity which gives all young people the chance to develop skills for life and work, fulfil their potential and have a brighter future. Participating in the DofE provides young people with many amazing adventures and masses of fun as they take part in a range of activities, all leading to the achievement of an award that’s recognised by universities and employers alike.

Participants attend regular evening meetings to monitor their progress in the award and to develop the skills needed to go on the organised expeditions, which have proved to be challenging, sometimes wet, and also great fun!
