World War I Battlefields Trip

This trip is going ahead as planned: if any student is unable to come at the last minute, they MUST phone Miss Lewis before 7.30am on Saturday using the number on the Emergency Contact Sheet. The weather is forecast to improve, but it will be very cold in Belgium and students are reminded to bring lots of warm clothing and sensible shoes needed.

Arts Festival – FINALS NIGHT POSTPONED

The Arts Festival Finals Night has been postponed until February 24th.The technical equipment necessary to set up the Main Hall for the performance is still several hundred miles away, and the overnight weather forecast means that it is unreasonable to expect it to be safely delivered here in time. We have, therefore, taken the decision in good time to reschedule the performance, rather than suffer a last minute panic tomorrow: all tickets already purchased will be valid for the new date and, although we are very sorry to disappoint both audience and performers who were looking forward to tomorrow night, we are sure that it will all be well worth waiting for.

Congratulations to all the students involved in Tuesday’s fantastic Music Semi-Final: the standard was truly impressive and those lucky enough to be in the audience enjoyed a great evening. We are now looking forward to the Drama performances tonight!

Rock Challenge

There will be chance to see our Rock Challenge performance in the Main Hall on Wednesday 22^nd February at 6:30pm, 6:50pm and 7:20pm. Tickets cost £2 for Under 16’s and £3 for adults. All are welcome for this showcase evening, which is also a rehearsal for the real thing on Monday 27th February at Southampton Guildhall. Please come along and support us.

Just to confirm that tickets for the performance evenings later this week are now on sale.

Tuesday 7^th Feb, Music Semi Final (6.30pm) – Tickets £5 adults £4 concession.
Thursday 9^th Feb, Dance and Drama Semi Final (6.30pm)– Tickets £5 Adult £4 Concession
Friday 10^th Feb , Grand Final (7pm) – Tickets £8 Adult £6 Concession

Tickets are on sale from Creative Arts Leaders from Hub 1 every lunchtime this week and they are also available from the School Office. Please note that we cannot reserve tickets – this proves to be very unfair on other students. This is always a most exciting – and busy & pressurised- week and we are always amazed by the variety and quality of the students’ work. There is already a buzz in the air, amazing music to be heard as rehearsals take place, and a growing thrill of anticipation. We hope your child enjoys this week and that you are able to join us.
