Attendance and Absence

There is a proven link between good school attendance and educational attainment and so we ask parents and carers to support us by ensuring their child comes to school as regularly as possible.

If your child cannot attend school please use our dedicated absence email, absence@perins.hants.sch.uk stating your child’s name and tutor group as well as the reason for absence, or phone 01962 734361 (Option 1 – Absence).

Please inform us before 8.40am, the start of the school day.  You must tell us on every day that they are absent.

If you need to apply for a school absence during term time, please download, complete and return the request form to absence@perins.hants.sch.uk at least two weeks in advance of any absence.

Fixed Penalties for non school attendance

Section 444A of the Education Act gives powers to the local authority, and Head Teachers to issue penalty notices in circumstances where it is believed that a person has committed an offence under Section 444A(1); that is, where a child fails to attend regularly at their registered school.
