School Uniform

All parents are expected to provide school uniform. Please note that on all issues relating to uniform the judgement of the school is final.

School ties and blazer badges are available directly from the School Office at £7.50 each. Other items can be ordered through the school office using the order form.

Blazer: Black with school badge on top pocket.  Traditional school uniform style.

Boy's schools uniform

Perins School Uniform - boys

Trousers:  Black or Dark Grey traditional style.  Not light grey, Cotton, combat design, cord or jean style.  The waistband of trousers should be worn on the waist, not the top of the leg (undergarments should not be seen).  Belts should be black in colour.

Shirt:  White traditional school shirt with standard collar.  Not baggy style or polo shirt.  Shirts must be worn tucked into trousers. In cold weather garments worn under the shirt must be light in colour and without images.

Socks: Plain navy blue, black or grey.

Shoes: Black or brown, with laces of the same colour.  Smart and practical for all school activities.   No trainers, boots, canvas types, flip-flops, sandals or open-toes..

Girl's School uniform

Perins School Uniform - Girls

Blazer:

Navy Blue with school badge on top pocket. Traditional school uniform style.

Skirt: Plain Navy Blue straight or A–line with a small back split (no front or side opening or other splits), smart and practical for all school activities. The acceptable length is no more than 8cm above or 15cm below mid knee. Fabrics with a high lycra content, which cling to the body, are not acceptable.

Trousers: Navy Blue traditional style.  Not cotton, combat design, cord or jean style.  Fabrics with a high lycra content, which cling to the body, are not acceptable.  Hipsters/flares not acceptable.

Shirt: White traditional school shirt with standard collar.  Not a fitted fashion or baggy style or polo shirt.  Shirts must be worn tucked into trousers or skirt. Garments worn under the shirt must be light in colour without images.

Socks/Tights: Plain navy blue, black or grey socks. Tights – black, navy blue or natural.

Shoes: Black or brown, with laces of the same colour.  Smart and practical for all school activities.   No trainers, boots, stilettos, canvas types, flip-flops, sandals or open-toes.  Shoes must fit feet securely and not be worn down at the back. ‘Flip flop’ action is unacceptable.

Both Boys and Girls

Jumper: Plain navy blue, fine knit, long sleeved with V neck.  This is an optional item; no other jumper is acceptable.

Tie:   School tie in House colour (Challenger = Green;  Discovery = Yellow;  Endeavour  = Red).  Ties must be worn to a length where a minimum of 9 coloured/silver stripes can be clearly seen.

Outside Coats: Dark colours or beige, plain type worn over (not instead of or under) blazers in cold weather. Not denim or imitation leather. Any reflective material, motifs or labels on coats/bags, must be discreet and inoffensive (not sexist, racist or relating to the drugs culture in any way). Scarves and hats must be navy blue or black, they are only to be worn in winter and not as a fashion garment.

Jewellery/ Body Piercing: No jewellery, except a maximum of 2 metal studs, one in each ear lobe.  Tunnel earrings are not permitted.  No other body jewellery is acceptable.

Hair Style/ Make Up: Hair must be clean, neat and tidy and kept at a reasonable length. Extreme styles, this includes shaving pattern into the hair and colours are not permitted. Visible makeup and nail varnish is unacceptable.
