The school day starts at 8.40am with registration in tutor rooms. There are two lessons ( Period 1 8.45-9.45am and Period 2 9.45-10.45am) followed by a twenty minute break from 10.45 until 11.05am. The canteen is open during break selling snacks and drinks. After break, we have two more lessons (Period 3 11.05-12.05 and Period 4 12.05-11.05pm.
Lunchtime is from 1.05pm until 1.55pm. The canteen is open with hot meals, snacks and drinks. There are many lunchtime activities – sport clubs, choirs, meetings and rehearsals. Students are not normally allowed to leave the school site, although students who live locally may apply for a lunch pass to go home for lunch. Prefects in Year 11 are allowed to go into Alresford during lunchtime if they wish.
After lunch, we have tutor time or assembly (1.55-2.15pm) followed by one more lesson (Period 5 2.15-3.15pm). School finishes at 3.15pm although there are many after school activities – sometimes called Period 6.
Students need to arrive promptly for tutor time and all lessons. If a student arrives late and misses registration, they should go to the school office to register before going to their normal timetabled lesson.
