Perins’ Director of Creative Arts receives award from The Mayor of Winchester

We are extremely proud of our Director of Creative Arts, Marilitsa Alexiou, who attended The Mayor of Winchester Awards last week and received the Community Award for service to the Arts. Ms Alexiou was nominated by an upstanding member of the community for her dedication to the Arts at Perins School as well as the wider community.

Below is what was written about Ms Alexiou’s contribution:

‘Thank you for building a community further than your drama classroom at Perins School and involving the local residents and businesses. Teenagers need a strong community and so do all of the residents. Through encouraging participation through their five years at Perins these teens now have more confidence to try new things and become community leaders in their own right. Creative Arts at Perins is a gift that needs to be cherished.’

If you have ever had the opportunity to attend one of our productions, you will know what a wealth of talent we have amongst our school community, past and present. We understand the importance of the Arts at Perins and the skills it provides to equip our young people in their adult life. In order to provide these lifelong skills, help to develop our students into confident adults, as well as providing positive memories of life at school, we need your help please.

We have already received an overwhelming response to our sponsorship packages from the local community, thank you for your generous donations, we look forward to working with you on what we think will be our best production yet!

If you haven’t already, there is still time to support us; we are grateful for any donation large or small. You can donate to us as an individual or as a business. For more information on supporting the Arts at Perins please get in touch or visit our website here.
