Boxing
Congratulations to Riley G in Year 7 who recently started his competitive amateur boxing career by competing in his first boxing skills bout, which are designed to be a bridge to having a full bout, with no winner announced. Riley has been boxing since he was 7 years old and has completed the GB awards (which count towards a PE GCSE and Duke of Edinburgh award). He held his own against a tough opponent and his coaches were delighted with his performance.
Biathlon
Congratulations to Rory S and Alexis H, both in Year 8, who performed admirably at the National Schools’ Biathlon Championships at Bath University last weekend.
Rory produced two PBs and was placed 18th in the U14 boys. Alexis performed with excellent determination to finish 8th in the U13 girls’ event.
Rugby
Congratulations to Owen B in Year 11 who captained London Irish U16s in their match against Northampton Saints last weekend.
Golf Lessons
We would like to resume golf lessons at Alresford Golf Club in the summer term.
The intention is that these will run on Mondays (beginners) and Thursdays (experienced players), between 15:45 and 16:45. Students will walk to and from the golf club.
Cost for these sessions will range between £50 – £80 for the 10 hour course (price will be confirmed when numbers are established). The price will include provision of clubs and instruction from the Alresford Golf Club staff.
