Karate

A number of Perins students competed at the South East Martial Arts Championships at the weekend, held at QMC in Basingstoke. They performed exceptionally well: Lucie T in Year 8 winning a gold, silver and a bronze, Jude E-P in Year 8 won silver and Dylan G in Year 10 won a silver and a bronze. These results mean that all three have now qualified to compete at the 13th World Martial Arts Games in the USA in 2023.

Athletics

Perins students produced some outstanding performances representing Eastleigh and Winchester District at the Years 9 to 11 Hampshire Schools Athletics Championships. These are summarised below:

• Rohan G (Y11) – 1st U17 100m (11.2)
• Alex B (Y11) – 1st U17 400m (51.4)
• Charlie EP (Y11) – 1st Hammer (59.99m) & 2nd Shot (14.35m)
• Ben B (Y9) – 1st U15 High Jump (1.69m)
• Ned S (Y8) – 2nd U15 Javelin (39.72m)
• Sophie Y (Y10) – 2nd U17 3000m (12.27.2)
• Sam J (Y11) – 3rd U17 Triple Jump (11.20m)
• Evie S (Y9) – 7th U15 Shot (7.35m)
• Lucy C (Y9) – 4th U15 High Jump (1.36M)
• Isla O (Y9) – 6th U15 Javelin

Rugby

Congratulations to Evelyn C (Y10) who has represented the Hampshire Rugby in matches against Surrey, Sussex and Kent this term.

Congratulations to Xander L (Y10) and Reuben O (Y10) who have been retained in the London Irish programme for next season. Reuben has secured a place in the DPP group and Xander has been selected for the academy group.
