The Perins Geography Team are running an optional residential trip to Iceland next year for students who have chosen to study the subject to GCSE in Years 10 and 11. Two spaces have become available on the trip therefore we are opening the trip to Year 9 and 10 students who are not currently studying GCSE Geography but have an interest in Geography or Environmental Science.
The trip runs from Saturday 27th to Wednesday 31st May 2023 and will cost approximately £1124 per student on a full board basis. To give you an idea of what the trip involves, here is a sample of the itinerary:
- Secret Lagoon (Geothermal pool)
- Thingvellir National Park (Mid-Atlantic Ridge)
- Gulfoss, Seljalandsfoss and Skogarfoss (Waterfalls)
- Solheimajokull (Glacier)
- Raufarholshellir Lava Tube
- Lava Centre
- Black basalt beaches
- Reykjanes Peninsula
If by this time we have more than 2 students interested, 2 names will be selected at random to go on the trip, and any remaining students will be put on a waiting list. The order of this list will also be drawn at random. You will be notified by Tuesday 29th November whether your child has a place on the trip or has been put on the waiting list.
Once the places have been allocated, we will require £280 to secure your child’s place, this payment will be due by Thursday 1st December, if we do not receive your deposit by this date, we reserve the right to take your child off the trip and offer the place to the next student on the waiting list.
