Perins School catering is provided by Aspens who are the new company chosen to provide our school meals service.
“We specialise in providing catering for schools and are passionate about serving fresh, high quality and locally sourced food that is cooked in our kitchen. We use British, Red Tractor Farm Assured meat, fish from sustainable sources, free range eggs and locally sourced fruit and vegetables. The food children eat at school plays an important role in their well-being, and eating a well-balanced diet will not only maintain and improve their health, but also set them on the right track for later life.”
Aspens have a Perins page on their website which has details of their iphone/Android App; menus, promotions and allergy information.
Cashless Catering System
Students do not use cash in the Perins canteen. Payment is made in advance, into the student’s account via our online payment system. To buy items in the canteen, the student simply places their finger on the scanner and the system uses a finger pattern recognition method to identify the student. It displays the student’s name and their account balance, deducts for the items they are buying and then shows them their new balance. How to pay money into a student’s account.
Payment is preferable through the online payment system
We strongly encourage any families who are entitled to Free School Meals to register. All students’ accounts at Perins appear exactly the same and there is nothing to show that they are getting a free school meal. Students entitled to a free meal have their balance updated every day with the amount allocated for a free school meal. This money can only be used at lunch and any under-spend or missed meals cannot be carried forward to the next day. Parents can also add extra money to their balance if they wish, in exactly the same ways as other, to buy items at break time or extra items at lunch time.
