Free School Meals are available at Perins for students whose families meet the eligibility criteria as specified by Hampshire County Council.
Registering is quick and easy. To check if you qualify and to register go to Hampshire County Council Free School Meals or contact the school office at Perins and we will help you to register.
Your child will be entitled to a free, healthy breakfast of toast, porridge or yoghurt and a healthy meal at lunchtime. The funding is automatically credited to your child’s catering account – when they use the cafeteria with our cashless catering system there is nothing to identify them as entitled to Free School Meals or make them stand out from other students.
When you register for Free School Meals, Perins receives additional funding ( the ‘pupil premium‘) which not only covers the cost of the meal but can be spent on additional support within the school. You can register even if you decide not to take advantage of the free school meal and your child prefers to bring a packed lunch. Perins will still receive the pupil premium and your child can still have their free meal if they ever wish to (perhaps if they forget their lunch!). Even if you are only eligible for a short time, it is worth registering. There are strict guidelines about how Perins can use this money and we have to show that it is being used to good effect.
Students can also register for Free School Meals if they get any of these benefits themselves. Please contact the school office for further information.
