Arts Festival and STEM week

In the spring term The Creative Arts department hold the annual Arts Festival. Throughout the week we put on a wide variety of workshops, activities and events focused on music, singing, dance and art.

Parents have the opportunity to watch students perform in showcases and competitions during the week, culminating in the highly anticipated finals night which sees students from all year groups take to the stage to compete for the coveted Arts Festival week awards.

We are so incredibly proud of all our students and the talent is always outstanding. The finals night is a fantastic way of letting them shine and the judging panel usually find it very hard to decide on the winners!

British Science Week (STEM Week) is a programme of science, technology, engineering and maths events and activities across the UK for people of all ages. We often have guest speakers which the students thoroughly enjoy too.

There are usually a number of different science activities for students to take part in throughout the week. They have the opportunity to explore areas of science and an array of different activities which they may not have encountered before.  Previous activities have included dissection, making robots, building machines, crafting DNA necklaces and working in teams to build bridges.

The week sometimes includes educational trips outside the school. It is always a fantastic week of scientific discovery for the students, which gives them the opportunity to take their science learning beyond the classroom.
