At the beginning of each academic year, Perins Year 9 students have the opportunity to attend a residential trip at Calshot Activity Centre. The Calshot experience has developed in recent years to become a feature of school life at Perins.
The students spend just under a week at Calshot where they get to experience an array of different activities including sailing, canoeing, wind-surfing, raft building, track cycling, skiing, climbing archery and team-initiative exercises.
The activities go on into the evening with an extensive evening programme to continue with the sense of adventure and challenge. The programme includes an evening at Splashdown water park, music and film night and ten pin bowling.
Both students and staff threw themselves into every challenge they faced ending up with big smiles and tails to tell. The students had the opportunity to experience a large range of activities from snowboarding to sailing and many are now looking to pursue these new activities in the future. The beautiful weather held out until the Friday which made the water activities even more sensational to watch and be a part of. Huge thanks to all staff involved for ensuring that every student gained memories that will last a life time.
