Student Opportunities
14-16 Programme – Sparsholt College Hampshire.
The 14 – 16 programme offers students one day a week on a work-related skills course. Students benefit by doing something practical whilst learning new skills and gaining knowledge, helping them to make important decisions about their future careers. The course runs through Years 10 and 11. Within the programme the following courses are offered:
- Animal Management
- Equine Studies
- NEW Environment & Countryside Skills
- Motor Vehicle
Applications need to be completed and returned by the end of April, complete the application form here. Interviews will be held on the morning of Tuesday 20th June and schools will be informed of individual timings for the interviews a week or two beforehand.

The University of Oxford Undergraduate open days: 22nd and 29th April 2023
This year the University of Oxford is holding two Mathematics & Computer Science Departmental Open Days; the first will take place in-person only in Oxford on Saturday 22 April, and then a week later it will be held online only on Saturday 29 April.
There will be talks on Mathematics, Computer Science, joint school courses, and the application process. The talks are somewhat academic in flavour and are aimed at students. Engineering Workshop Taster Day: 10th June 2023
SETA Training, in Southampton, has launched its next Workshop Taster Day on 10th June between 10 am – 2.30 pm. The event is aimed at young people that have an interest in finding out more about training and careers in engineering.
The day enables you to discover what being an engineering apprentice involves. Talk with SETA staff and current apprentices, and find out about apprenticeship vacancies. As well as having a go at different engineering activities which may include: Metrology, Sheet Metal, Electrical Wiring, Computer-Aided Design, etc.

Peter Symonds Open Evenings: 5th and 6th July 2023
Find out more about life at Peter Symonds College. This is a great opportunity for prospective students to look around facilities, meet staff and current students, and discover more about the courses and activities on offer. Open Evenings for 2024 entry will take place on:
