This page holds a range of information useful to our Year 11 parents and students, including exam timetables, revision sessions, the Year 11 prom and results day. It will be updated as the year progresses.
The Year 11 GCSE trial examination period is a valuable opportunity for the students to become comfortable with the process and ensure they are ready and relaxed for the exams in the summer.
GCSE Exams 2021
Final grades for Year 11 subjects are being assessed differently this year, due to the extended closures of secondary schools during the last 12 months. Please see full details of Year 11 assessments in 2021 here.
Results day will be 12th August 2021 – details to be confirmed.
Please see The Joint Council for Qualifications website for their essential information for candidates and their parents about the coursework and exam process:
Also see The Joint Council for Qualifications guidance for students, parents and guardians on GCSEs, summer 2021 document here, which provides an overview of how grades will be awarded this summer, a timeline of what will be happening when and how teachers and schools will determine the grades.
Post Half-Term Provision
Following the May half term, we will provide students with virtual, online activities as part of their post half-term provision. The two main foci of these activities will centre around bridging the gap between school and future education and mental health and well-being.
Year 11 Celebration Leavers Day
Perins School is happy to announce that the Year 11 celebration afternoon for students will be on Friday 28th May 2021 and this will be their last day of lessons in school. By this date, the students have completed their exam courses, and this is a celebration of their time at Perins. The day includes a celebration assembly, a whole year group photograph (taken on the field and requiring full correct uniform), and time as a year group to sign shirts and leavers’ books while tucking into a hog roast.
Year 11 Prom
We can confirm that the Year 11 prom will be on Wednesday 21st July. We will hold it in the Main Hall at Perins. For this to run smoothly we will be sending out some very detailed information, which will include details about transport to the event, as we know this will be incredibly complicated manoeuvring so many vehicles on and off the site.
