In year 7 transform, a group of 8 year 7 students from Miss Hawnt’s class helped Mr Topping plant some bulbs within the school grounds at Perins with the hope that they will flourish and bloom in time for the spring term.

The students assisted in planting the bulbs in a formation which will spell out the letters PERINS and produce a beautiful display for the whole school to enjoy.

Despite the near-freezing temperatures, the students enjoyed the experience of hands-on gardening in the crisp winter air, and their rosy cheeks on smiles on return to the classroom were a testament to the benefits of the outdoors.

Here is what they had to say:

Eliot: I don’t normally do gardening, and it gave me a new experience putting things in the earth and doing something for the school.

Louie: I enjoyed it because just being outside is fun. It was cold, but it will be worth it!

Well done Year 7!
