Perins School Celebrates Exceptional GCSE Achievements – 21 August 2025
Perins School is thrilled to announce a remarkable set of GCSE results for our Year 11 cohort, marking a year of outstanding academic achievement and personal growth.
This year group began their secondary education during the pandemic and, throughout their journey, faced lockdowns and social distancing measures. These challenges make their achievements even more impressive.
This year’s students have surpassed expectations, achieving over 3.5 points higher on the Attainment 8 measure compared to last year. Nearly a quarter of all exam entries resulted in a grade 7 or above, with the number of grade 8+ results doubling from the previous year. These outcomes reflect the incredible dedication of our students and the unwavering care, support, and commitment of our staff.
Although the Progress 8 measure is not being used nationally this year, we are confident that this cohort would have “smashed it.” Their progress, both individually and collectively, has been nothing short of inspiring.
In over half of all GCSE/Level 2 subjects entered by Perins School, more than 80% of students achieved a grade 4 or above. This includes core subjects such as Maths, English Language, and English Literature. Over 80% of students secured at least a grade 4 in both English and Maths, laying strong foundations for future study and employment.
A third of the year group took separate sciences, with a 100% pass rate in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Biology stands out, with every student entered attaining a grade 5 or higher.
Students also embraced the opportunity to study two Modern Foreign Languages, demonstrating a growing passion for language learning. Three times as many students were entered for two language qualifications compared to last year, and within this group, there was a 100% pass rate at grade 4 or above in both languages.
Perins is proud to celebrate the exceptional achievements of our top-performing students:
- 11 students achieved an Attainment 8 score above 80 out of 90.
- Students attaining 11 grade 4+ passes include: Olivia B, Rory S, and Maciek K.
- Students achieving at least seven grades 8 or 9 include: George B, Sophie C, Maddie H, Amy H, Rory S, Sam C, Lydia S, Chris W, Maciek K, and Gabriel W.
These results are a testament to the culture of ambition, resilience, and support that defines Perins School. We are immensely proud of our students and deeply grateful to our dedicated staff and supportive families who have made this success possible.
Here’s to a bright future for the Class of 2025!
