Visit from Dr Danny Chambers MP

Last week, Perins School was delighted to welcome Dr Danny Chambers, Liberal Democrat MP for Winchester and Spokesperson for Mental Health.
Dr Chambers delivered an inspiring assembly to our Year 10 students, sharing his personal journey from working as a veterinary surgeon to becoming a Member of Parliament. His reflections on career choices, public service, and the importance of mental health sparked thoughtful discussion and engagement among our students.
Our Head Boy and Head Girl, Josh and Millie, commented:
“We were very happy showing Danny Chambers our Perins community and are intrigued to see how he delivers his promises. It was a pleasure to meet him.”
Dr Chambers remarked that he was “very impressed with the dedication of staff and students, and how they’ve created an inspiring learning environment and an atmosphere buzzing with excitement and potential.”
Following the assembly, our incoming senior prefects took on their first major leadership responsibility by giving Dr Chambers a tour of the school. This was a valuable opportunity for them to ask questions, share their aspirations, and reflect on the future of Perins.
We are proud to offer our students meaningful opportunities to engage with leaders and explore the many paths their futures may take.
