Sports Club

Please note that sports clubs will conclude on Friday 8th July this year with the exception of athletics club which will still take place on Wednesday 13th July to allow students one final opportunity to practice for sports day.

Karate

Katie D in Year 7 recently competed at the World Sport Shito Ryu Karate Championships and the European Shito Ryu Karate Championships both held in Croatia (2 competitions in 2 days!). Katie’s brother Jax who will be joining Perins in September, also competed in his age group. Both were up against very high level competitors, and they put in some strong performances; Katie managed to secure a European bronze medal in kumite (Fighting), and Jax won World and European bronze medals in the kata events, even after sustaining a broken toe in the warm up!

Squash

Congratulations to Megan L (Y10) who finished 4th at the Italian Junior Open, losing narrowly to the American No. 1 in the semi-final. This performance ranks Megan 4th in the world at U17 level, hugely impressive considering that she has another year in this age category.

 Biathle

Congratulations to Rory S (Y8) who was crowned Year 8 National Biathle Champion 2022 at Leweston School, Dorset at the weekend. He was an impressive 14 seconds clear of the silver medallist.

Athletics

Three Perins students (all Hampshire U17 Champions) competed superbly at the South Eastern Counties Championships at the weekend.  Charlie EP finished 2nd in the hammer, Rohan G finished 3rd in the 100m and Alex B was crowned 400m champion.
