County Swimming Success

Lucy G in Year 10 qualified for the 2023 Hampshire county swimming championships after narrowly missing out last year by 0.01 seconds. This year Lucy qualified for seven events, a fantastic achievement! Sunday 22nd January was the first day of competition and Lucy had 3 races: 100m breaststroke, 200m backstroke and 200 Individual Medley. She had an excellent day achieving personal best times in all 3 events. In her age group, Lucy moved up placings in all of her events. She placed 18th in 200m backstroke, 16th in 200 Individual Medley and 9th in100m breast stroke (narrowly missing out on the final). Lucy trains every day of the week (6 pool sessions and 1 land training) and is working hard on getting ready for a full weekend of county championships at the end of February, when she will compete in another four events.
