Summer Reading Challenge

Lounging in the sunshine, ice cream in one hand, an exciting new book in the other… Welcome to the Summer Reading Challenge!

Come rain or shine, the Library and English teams have set a challenge: for your child read a new book over the summer holiday – be it a novel, some fascinating non-fiction, a graphic novel or poetry. Next, get creative; create and illustrate a book review OR devise another type of creative response. Perhaps a piece of writing inspired by the book, paint a picture, or design a cover to encourage others to pick up the book next (keep to a single side of A4.)

Please encourage your child to complete the assignment and hand the piece of work to their new English teacher in September for the chance to be entered into a prize draw.

Need help choosing a book? Click here or pop into the school library at lunchtime and take out up to three books for the entire summer holiday! Please also remember to nominate Perins School Library, in the National Book Tokens competition, for the chance to win £1000 worth of books for Perins Library.

You asked. We listened. Check out some of the new books which have just arrived in the library from requests that have been made:
