Geography Trip – Winchester College

I am excited to share with you a fantastic opportunity for our KS4 More Able geography students. We have planned on Tuesday 14th May an optional visit to Winchester College. During this trip students will be participating in a climate change workshop, a tour of the college with a sustainability focus and weather dependent, an opportunity to study the ecology and floodplain management of the river Itchen. All these opportunities will be run by Winchester College staff.

As part of the trip will be outside, students will be required to wear appropriate clothing including long trousers (there may be stinging nettles along parts of the route), sturdy footwear and wet weather clothing. The college has also kindly offered to provide the students lunch, students will be required to bring their own bottled water as well as a light snack for a mid-morning break.

We will leave school at 8.45am and return at 2.05pm. We are asking for a voluntary contribution of £1.20 per student towards the cost of this trip.

You will need to give your consent for your child to attend this trip – please log on to Scopay and go to ‘Winchester College – Geography More Able Trip 2024’ to give your consent, you can also make your voluntary donation here. If you cannot access your child’s Scopay account please contact the Finance Team on financeteam@perins.hants.sch.uk.

The closing date for the receipt of all consent and voluntary donations is 9am, Friday 10th May. Please ensure that the medical and dietary details we hold for your child are up to date for this trip.

Yours sincerely, Miss Skelton
