The 6th of June this year marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day. The History leaders will be doing assemblies the first week back after half term, tutor activities will also be sent out that week, and year 8 pupils will be finding out more in their History lessons.
However, to get ready for such an important event we would like tutor groups to create their own bunting to decorate classrooms and even the corridors. Patriotic – Union Jack Bunting is great but it can also represent the many other countries that took part and for it to also show some information about D-Day. This could be about the day itself, the preparations, how areas local to us are important, what happened as a result of the anniversary and why it is important to remember and commemorate.
We would be really grateful for your support in donating any bunting you may also have lying around the house. Please hand donations to the History department.
Thank you all for your support, The History Team.
