Together We Remember
Once again, our History Leaders have gone above and beyond to ensure Remembrance was meaningfully commemorated across the school.
Assemblies were delivered to all year groups, where they shared the significance of Remembrance and explored the symbolism behind the different coloured poppies. Drawing inspiration from the Art Club’s project, they helped students reflect on the broader impact of war and the importance of remembering all those affected.
“This year’s commemorations were a testament to the leadership, compassion, and commitment of our History Leaders, and I am incredibly proud of everyone who contributed to making Remembrance 2025 so meaningful.” - Miss Lewis
Alice, Amelia, Amelie, and Freya represented the school at the Remembrance Service at St John’s Church. They delivered a thoughtful presentation before laying a wreath, handmade by Sophia, at the Perins School memorial. Many members of the public approached them afterwards to commend their poise and eloquence.
“I’ve loved doing the assemblies, but I especially enjoyed making the wreath for this year’s service, as I was able to create something to show respect on behalf of the school.” - Sophia
Our school prefects also played a vital role, selling poppies throughout the week to raise funds for the Royal British Legion and encouraging the school community to wear their poppies with pride. The week culminated in a united moment of reflection as the school observed a two-minute silence, a moving tribute that brought everyone together in remembrance and respect.
“Being involved in Remembrance was an honour. It was so great to see the whole school come together and commemorate.” - Edward and Jack
